DAY 02 DELHI - VARANASI
Morning : Proceed for tour to Old Delhi. Visiting, Red Fort - The old walled city from Mughal India, the chief attraction is the huge fort that contains within it palaces and impressive public buildings. Chandni Chowk - The main street of Old Delhi is the colourful shopping bazaar known as Chandni Chowk. Jama Masjid - The great mosque of Old Delhi is both the largest in India and the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan. Raj Ghat - On the banks of the Yamuna river, a simple square platform of black marble marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948.
Afternoon : Transfer to railway station to connect train to Varanasi.

DAY 03 ARRIVAL VARANASI
Morning : Welcome upon arrival at Varanasi railway station and transfer to the Hotel.
Afternoon : Excursion to SARNATH. Here Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after enlightenment and revealed the eight fold path, the Buddhists doctrine. Visit Chaukhandi Stupa, Ashok Pillar, Dhamek Stupa, Dharamika Stupa, Dhamek Stupa, Archaeological Museum.

DAY 04 VARANASI - KOLKATA
Morning : Visit and boat ride at river Ganges . The most important facet of Varanasi is the Ganges and the ghats lining its southern bank in the city. Just cruise along the ghats on a country boat to view sunrise and watch the Ghats, and people performing daily rights/pooja. Return back to Hotel.
Afternoon : Transfer to railway station to connect train to Kolkata

DAY 05 ARRIVAL KOLKATA
Morning : Welcome upon arrival at Kolkata railway station and transfer to the Hotel.

DAY 06 KOLKATA - BHUBANESHWAR
Morning : Proceed for City tour to Kolkata. Visiting, Indian Museum - Conveniently situated on the corner of Sudder St. and Chowringhee Road, the Indian Museum was built in 1875. It's certainly the largest and probably the best museum in India, and one of the best in Asia. Its widely varied collection includes oddities such as a whole roomful of meteorites. Other exhibits include the usual fossils, stuffed animals, skeletons, deformed fetuses. Maidan & Fort William - After the events of 1756, the British decided there would be no repetition of the attack on the city and set out to replace the original Fort William, in the Maidan, with a massive and impregnable new fort. St. Paul's Cathedral - Built between 1839 and 1847, this is one of India's most important churches.

DAY 07 BHUBANESHWAR
Morning : Welcome upon arrival at Bhubneshwar railway station and transfer to the Hotel.
Afternoon : Proceed for city tour to Bhubneshwar. Visiting, Lingaraj Mandir - Surrounded by a high wall, the great temple of Bhubaneswar is off limits to all non-Hindus. Although the British Raj respected this ruling, it did not deter them from building a viewing platform beside the northern wall. The temple is dedicated to Tribhuvaneswar, or Lord of the Three Worlds, also known as Bhubaneswar. Bindu Sagar - The Ocean drop tank (Bindu Sagar), just north of the great temple, is said to centain water from every holy steam, pool and tank in India. When it comes to washing away sin, this tank washes the cleanest. There are number of temples and shrines scattered around the tank. Vaital Mandir - Close to the Bindu Sagar, this temple has a double-storeyed 'wagon roof', an influence from Buddhist cave architecture. It dates from the 8th century and was a centre of Tantric worship.

DAY 08 BHUBANESHWAR - CHENNAI
Morning : Free for own activities.

DAY 10 MAHABALIPURAM
Morning : City tour to Mahabalipuram is a sculptors delight. Among the noteworthy sites in the vicinity of the town are Arjuna's Penance, Krishna Mandapam, Varaha Caves, Five Rathas and Shore temples.

DAY 11 MAHABALIPURAM - PONDICHERRY
Morning : Drive to Pondicherry (105 kms / approx 02 hrs). On arrival, check-in at Hotel.
Afternoon : City tour, visiting a former French Colony, presents an unusual combination of European culture and Indian traditions. An added attraction is the township of Auroville, an oasis of peace and enlightenment. Another hallowed spot is Aurobindo Ashram which draws devotees from all over the world.

DAY 12 PONDICHERRY - CHIDAMBARAM - TANJORE
Morning : Drive to Tanjore enroute visiting Chidambaram [ 200 kms \ approx 5 hours drive from Pondicherry]. Chidambaram - Is an important pilgrim centre and holy place for devotees of SHIVA as the famous Nataraja Temple is located here. The Temple covers an area of 40 acres. The top roof of the sanctum sanctorum is covered with gold plates and strings.The Temple is Closed between - 12.00 PM to 04.00 PM.

Day 13 TANJORE - TRICHY
Morning : Sightseeing tour of TANJORE, now known as THANJAVUR. Modern Thanjavur is a fertile plain which is referred to as the ' rice bowl' of Tamil Nadu. Located on the eastern coast of central Tamil Nadu, it has the distnction of having been the capital of Cholas - one of the greatest dynasties of the South. The Cholas were great temple builders and Thanjavur bears witness to this being dotted with no fewer than 74 templs - the most famous of which is the Brahadeeswarar Temple, a World Heritage Monument. Also visit THE PALACE, located near the temple, has huge corridors and spacious halls.
Afternoon : Drive to Trichy 60 km / approx 02 hrs. Upon arrival at Trichy, check-in at Hotel
Later visit to SRI JAMBUKESHWARA TEMPLE - This temple is dedicated to Shiva and has five concentric walls and seven gopurams. It's built around a Shiva lingam partly submerged in water that comes from a spring in the sanctum sanctorum. Non-Hindus are not allowed in this part of the temple.ST. JOHN'S CHURCH - Built in 1812, this Church has louverd side doors which can be opened to turn the Church into an airy pavilion.

DAY 14 TRICHY - MADURAI
Morning : Proceed to city tour. Visiting ROCK FORT TEMPLE - The temple tops an 83m high outcrop. This smoth rock was first hewn by the Pallavas who cut small cave temples into the southern face, but it was the Nayaks who made use of its naturally fortified position. SRI RANGANATHASWAMY TEMPLE (Srirangam) - This superb temple complex about three km from the Rock Fort, is surrounded by seven concentric walls with 21 gopurams and is probably the largest in India.

DAY 15 MADURAI - BANGALORE
Morning : Proceed for tour to Madurai visiting SRI MEENAKSHI TEMPLE - The main city area revolves around Meenakshi Temple, with its baroque example of Dravidian architecture and the four tall gopurams (pillars) with multicoloured gods, goddesses, demons and deities. The 1,000 pillared hall has stone figures carved on the pillars, some of which sound like metal when hit with an object. The metal stone or musical pillar, although made of stone, produces sounds of different metals. Temple timings : 05.00 AM to 12.00 PM & 04.00 PM - 09.00 PM. TIRUPARANKUNDRAM TEMPLE - The rock-cut temple, eight km south of town, is one of the abodes of Sundareshwara. ALAGARKOLI TEMPLE - Also known as Azhagar Koil is 21 km north of Madurai. A hilltop Vaishnavaite temple. During the festival of Chithirai, a gold icon is carried in procession from this temple to Madurai. And some other places in Madurai. like Vishnu Temple, Madanogopal Temple and Water tank.

DAY 16 BANGALORE
Morning : Welcome upon arrival at Bangalore railway station and transfer to the Hotel.
Afternoon : City tour visiting, TIPU SULTAN'S PALACE - Now a museum, this two storeyed ornate wooden structure is a mine of information. One of the most remarkable Islamic buildings in the city. VIDHANA SOUDHA - This imposing edifice built almost entirely of dressed Bangalore granite is a tribute to temple architecture. Housing the Legislative Chambers of the state government, this is Bangalore's best-known landmark. CHOWDAIH MEMORIAL HALL - Located near Saukey Tank, this hall is built in the shape of 'pitulu', a musical instrument in Kerala. The hall is covered by strings on the roof to give it the look of a musical instrument.

The southernmost peninsula is known as Colaba and this is where most travelers gravitate since it has a city's best known landmark, THE GATEWAY OF INDIA. Further west is Marine Drive, which sweeps around Back Bay, connecting the high-rise modern business center of Nariman Point with Chowpatty Beach.

DAY 22 MUMBAI - AURANGABAD
Morning : Excursion to ELEPHANTA ISLAND - The rock-cut temples on Elephanta Island are Mumbai's major attraction. They are thought to have been created between 450 and 750, when the island was known as Gharapuri, the Fortress City. The Portuguese renamed it Elephanta because of a large stone elephant near the shore.
Afternoon : Transfer to railway station to connect train to Aurangabad.

DAY 23 AURANGABAD
Morning : Welcome upon arrival at Aurangabad railway station and transfer the Hotel
Afternoon : Excursion to ELLORA CAVES - The world-heritage listed cave temples of Ellora, about 30 km from Aurangabad, are the culmination of Deccan rock-cut architecture. In all there are 34 caves at Ellora - 12 Buddhist (600-800 AD), 17 Hindu (600-900 AD) and five Jain (800-1000 AD). The southernmost 12 caves are all Buddhist viharas, except cave 10 which is a chaitya. While the earliest caves are quite simple.

DAY 24 AURANGABAD - BHUSAVAL - AGRA
Morning : Excursion to AJANTA CAVES - The Buddhist caves of Ajanta - 166 km north-east of Aurangabad, date from around 200 BC to 650 AD. As Ellora developed and Buddhism gradually declined, the Ajanta Caves were abandoned and gradually forgotten. But in 1819 a British hunting party stumbled upon them, and their remote beauty was soon unveiled. Their isolation contributed to the fine state of preservation in which some of their remarkable paintings remain to this day. Ajanta is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

DAY 25 ARRIVAL AGRA
Morning : Welcome upon arrival at Agra railway station and transfer the Hotel
Afternoon : Sightseeing tour of Agra, visiting TAJ MAHAL [ built by Shah Jehan for his queen Mumtaj Mahal ], perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the World & the construction of Taj Mahal believed to have taken 22 Years to complete with over 20,000 craftsmen working round the clock. AGRA FORT, where you can ramble around the somewhat unkempt high walls and wide moat, up and down staircases and through the palace rooms. From the fine Musamman Burj (octagonal Tower) there is a wonderful view of the Taj Mahal. Also visit a Marble Factory to see the intricate work of Gems, precious stones in Marble, etc.

DAY 27 JAIPUR - DELHI
Morning : Excursion to Amber Fort - 11 Kms from Jaipur is Amber, the ancient capital of Jaipur state. Construction of the Fort-palace was begun in 1592 by Raja Man Singh and it was later extended and completed by the Jai Singhs before the move to Jaipur. Enjoy Elephant ride while climbing up to the Amber fort.
Afternoon : Proceed for city tour of Jaipur City. A Visit to City Palace - In the heart of the old city, the City Palace occupies a large area divided into a series of courtyards, gardens and buildings. This Museum an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthan and Mughal art. The Museum is resplended with its collection of robes of Royal Princes. Jantar Mantar - adjacent to the entrance to the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar, or observatory, built by Jai Singh in 1728. Hawa Mahal (PALACE OF WIND) - a five storeyed wonder with a spectacular pyramid façade and overhanging windows with latticed screen, domes and spires.

DAY 28 DEPART DELHI
Morning : Proceed for tour to Old Delhi. Afternoon : Continue to visit New Delhi, Rajpath - The Kingsway is another focus of New Delhi. It is immensely broad and is flanked on either side by Ornamental ponds. India Gate - This 42 mtr high stone arch of triumph stands at the eastern end of the Rajpath. It bears the names of 85,000 Indian Army soldiers who died in the campaigns of WWI and Afghan fiasco in 1919 Rashtrapati Bhawan - The official residence of the President of India stands at the opposite end of the Rajpath from India Gate. Humayun's Tomb - Built in the mid - 16 th century by Haji Begum, senior wife of Humayun, the second Mughal emperor, this is an early example of Mughal architecture. Qutab Munar - This is a soaring tower of victory which was started in 1193, immediately after the defeat of the last Hindu kingdom in Delhi. It is nearly 73 mtr high and tapers from a 15 mtr diameter base to just 2.5 mtr at the top.
