Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1-NEW DELHI :
The splendid journey starts from the Delhi Safdarjung Railway station. Before the Palace on Wheels week tour cruises along the fascinating land of Rajasthan you will receive a warm and traditional welcome.

Day 2 -JAIPUR :
The initial stop of the Palace-on-Wheels is Jaipur, popularly known as the pink city and one of the most well planned cities of the world. In 1727 A.D., the capital city, Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II.
Explore the Hawa Mahal on an air-conditioned coach or the Palace of Winds. Palace of Winds is a remarkable five storied building. Then a visit to Amber Fort will provide you a opportunity to ride an elephant to climb up the hill. Enjoy lunch at a Five Star Hotel of the city followed by visit to City Palace Museum and Observatory.

Day 3 -JAISALMER :
Jaisalmer lies in the heart of the Thar Desert. This city was founded in 1156 A.D. by Rawal Jaisal. The magnificent yellow sandstone fort is an appealing sight of the city. Here you can discover the painstakingly latticed havelis and splendid mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver's skill. Here you can witness fine pattu shawls, mirror work and embroidered articles, splendid wooden boxes, trinkets ,fine silver jewellery and curios. Enjoy cultural programmer at a Five Star hotel.

Day 4 - JODHPUR :
Next morning the Palace-on-Wheels will take you to the fascinating city of Jodhpur. Jodhpur is a city ringed by a high wall made of stone with seven gates and several bastions. This city was founded by Rao Jodha in the year 1459 A.D. It is the largest city of Rajasthan. Here you can witness Mehrangarh Fort, Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana. These monuments are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Jaswant Thada lies near fort complex. Also you can witness a group of royal cenotaphs, which is made of white marble. After lunch at a Palace hotel, return to the Palace-on-Wheels.

Day 5 -SAWAI MODHOPUR :
The next exploration in Rajasthan reveals a sense a life of the wilderness on the Palace-on-Wheels takes you to Sawai Madhopur. This city was named after the founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. After your arrival in this fascinating place, visit Ranthambhor National Park, wherein are located the ruins of a 10th century fort. This wildlife sanctuary spreads upto an area of 392 sq. kms and it is home to more than 300 species of birds. The tiger, hyena, jackal and fox are some of the members of the carnivorous population here. Upon return to the Palace-on-Wheels, you leave for Chittaurgarh.

Day 5 -CHITTAURGARH :
After lunch on board you will arrive at Chittaurgarh. The historical legacies reveal images of love and velour; scars of battles, reflecting the history of defeat and won.

Day 6 - UDAIPUR :
In 1559 A.D., the city of Udaipur was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar. The most beautiful sites of Udaipur are the marble palaces- the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir that appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichhola. Enjoy lunch at a Five Star Hotel.

Day 7 - BHARATPUR :
Early morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur. After breakfast, witness the famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park. In this Park you can witness thousands of Egrets, migratory Water Fowl, Siberian Cranes, and many other species of birds.

Day 7: AGRA :
Upon arrival in the Agra City, visit the Agra Fort. Agra is famous for Taj Mahal, which is an astounding and unique monument of its own kind. It is one of the seven wonder of the world. The emperor Shah Jahan built this tomb in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.

Day 8 -DELHI :
Arrive at Delhi Safdarjung Railway station at 04.00 hrs. Breakfast on board, and undoubtedly the unforgettable memories of the past week will linger on your mind for a long, long time.
